QUETTA, Oct 21: Thirty-eight women died at the hands of their relatives, who killed them on the pretext of protecting their honour during the past three months in Balochistan.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, provincial coordinator of the Aurat Foundation Haroon Dawood Durrani said that 46 women had been killed in the last quarter.

He said that 220 incidents of violence against women were reported in Balochistan during the same period and 87 women were reportedly abused physically.

He said that according to data collected between July and September, most of the incidents occurred in Nasirabad and Jaffarabad districts.—Staff Correspondent
