ATTOCK, Oct 21: Unscheduled loadshedding of long duration has added to the miseries of patients at district headquarters (DHQ) hospital and other health facilities.

The loadshedding had badly affected the operation of machinery and equipment particularly of X-ray, pathology and blood bank departments.

The patients of the DHQ hospital that were suffering at outpatient department and wards as well curse the Iesco and the government for this miserable situation. They said the hospital had a power generator but it could only fulfill needs of the Emergency department and operation theatre as it could not run every time in loadshedding due to lack of funds for fuel.

SECURITY HINDRANCE: Such as, prevailing unannounced loadshedding is also creating hindrance in security arrangements, as the Close Circuit Camera Televisions (CCTVs) and other electronic security devices could not function properly for detection of terrorists and outlaws without electricity.

Owing to increasing numbers of terrorism incidents in the country, CCTVs had been installed at the jewelry shops, hotels, markets, banks and other public places besides walkthrough gates at railway stations, government offices and other sensitive points.

They said loadshedding rendered communication system of the police and law enforcing agencies inoperational as they could not even charge their wireless sets and other communication equipment leaving field wide open for terrorists and robbers. —Correspondent
