Animals imported for zoo

HYDERABAD, Oct 19: District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil said on Sunday that 75 per cent of animals for Rani Bagh zoo had been imported and it was now officers’ duty to shift them into their cages at the zoo and take good care of them.

The nazim said during a visit to Rani Bagh that especially trained doctors and staff should be appointed at the zoo to look after the animals and brief but complete details of each animal should be given on a board outside each cage.

He directed the contractor to speed up pace of work on parking space and construct separate entry and exit gates.

He inspected a special cage being prepared for the lion and went round Abbas Bhai park and other areas of Rani Bagh to review progress of ongoing work.

Later, the nazim inspected the roads and directed the officials concerned to ensure quality of work. All the roads should be completed by working round the clock to avoid any inconvenience to visitors, he said.

He inspected ongoing work on the Phulelli extension bridge and directed the contractor to ensure that sidewalks had been laid on both sides of the road.
