KARACHI, Oct 19: The recently created “women trafficking control cell” will start functioning from next month.

This was stated by Sindh Minister for Women Development Tauqeer Fatima Bhutto in a statement issued here on Sunday. A high-level committee has been formed with the task of selecting an experienced expert in the field to act as consultant for the cell.

The minister hoped that the desired results would start emerging soon after the activation of the cell. She said the cell had been created with a view to help check crime against women and ensure protection of their due rights.

Ms Bhutto said the government had already initiated many development projects aimed at empowering women economically and completion of these projects would also result in an improved standard of common man’s life.—APP
