KCCA U-17 zonal event starts today

KARACHI, Oct 18: Sixteen under-17 outfits will compete in the second phase of the KCCA Annual Talent Hunt Programme, which starts from Sunday at the KCCA Stadium.

The opening match in the inter-zonal tournament, starting at 10:00am, features KCCA Zone-VII Whites and Lasbella.

According to KCCA honorary secretary Sirajul Islam Bukhari, players born on or after Sept 1, 1991, already selected by each zone through open trials, are eligible to play in the competition provided they bring along age and educational certificates, ‘B’ form, copy of national identity card of the head of the family and two passport size photographs attached on the prescribed forms.

Meanwhile, all participating cricketers have been asked to report at the venue on Sunday to Mehtab Ahmed (tournament committee chairman) and Touseef Siddiqui (secretary) for the inaugural ceremony and facial scrutiny.

The teams have been placed into following pools:

Pool ‘A’: Zone-I Whites, Zone-VI Blues, Zone-IV Blues, Zone-V Blues.

Pool ‘B’: Zone-VII Whites, Zone-III Whites, Zone-II Blues, Lasbella.

Pool ‘C’: Zone-VI Whites, Zone-V Whites, Zone-I Blues, Zone-Vi Greens.

Pool ‘D’: Zone-II Whites, Zone-VI Whites, Zone-III Blues, Zone-VII Blues.
