QUETTA, Oct 18: Balochistan Chief Minister Aslam Raisani has said the federal government will provide Rs3 billion more to his province and its overdraft of Rs21 billion will soon be converted into a soft loan.
Talking to newsmen here on Saturday on his return from a two-day visit to Karachi, he said the prime minister during a recent meeting in Islamabad had assured him that Rs3 billion more would be provided to Balochistan for development works.
He said the prime minister had told him that Islamabad would extend all help to the province in overcoming its financial crisis.
The chief minister said he had met the State Bank governor, who informed him that an agreement about conversion of the province’s overdraft into soft loan would be signed soon.
Mr Raisani said he had also held a meeting with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and discussed matters of mutual interest.
