HYDERABAD, Oct 18: Hussainabad police have lodged an FIR of a double murder case against four unidentified persons on the complaint of a local PML-Q leader, Dr Shafiq Arain, after his wife and his driver were found shot dead in his home in Latifabad unit-2 on Thursday under mysterious circumstances.
He lodged an FIR against four unidentified persons saying that he was coming to his home when he was intercepted by the accused, who took him in their car at gunpoint. He said that he was dropped near Baldia police station. He said that he reached Kali Mori and called his brother, Saifur Rehman, who reached there and informed that his wife and driver, Shakeel had been found murdered.
His wife, Najadah, and driver, Shakeel, were laid to rest on Thursday night. The body of Shakeel was found in the garage while that of his wife was lying in her bedroom. Police had detained four labourers who were busy in construction work for an additional room in the house on its rear side. Police also interrogated the cook of the house.
“There are so many things which are to be checked. Until now we didn’t have something concrete from the complainant’s side and now we would proceed with the investigation. The whole story remains quite puzzling and there are various aspects which are to be verified even from the family’s point of view as well,” said a source in the police department.
INJURED: SHO Bhitshah police station sustained bullet wounds late on Friday night when he was fired upon by two armed gangsters near helipad.
According to reports, two persons had arrived from Matli in a taxi for a visit to the shrine of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai. After visiting it, they overpowered the driver, Ahmed Mallah. While they were busy tying hands after stripping him, SHO Allan Khan Abbasi was passing through the area in his private car.
He stopped there and inquired from them. When he tried to search the vehicle, he was fired upon. He received bullet wounds in his chest and was taken to Hala hospital. Later, he was shifted to Civil Hospital Hyderabad. Reports said that he had been taken to Karachi as his condition is stated to be critical.
Police have arrested one of the gangsters, Naheed Khan Jatoi. His accomplice Nazeer Ahmed Arain who had fled from the scene was later arrested. Three separate FIRs are lodged with the Bhitshah police. The accused have been remanded in police custody for seven days.
