LAHORE, Oct 17: The second leg of the ITF Futures tennis championship will start at the newly-renovated Punjab Lawn Tennis courts in Bagh-i-Jinnah on Oct 24.

Speaking to the media, Punjab Lawn Tennis Association (PLTA) President Rao Iftikhar said on Thursday that the players, who were already taking part in the first leg of the ITF in Islamabad, would move to Lahore to play the second leg. The competition will conclude on Oct 30.

He said the players from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan and England, would be competing in the $10,000 competition for which strict security arrangements have been made.

Meanwhile, he added the PLTA had also decided to hold U-13 and U-16 championships at the same venue from Nov 2.

Best players of the youth competition would be picked for the PLTA Academy, which will start functioning soon after the contests.—Sports Reporter
