KARACHI, Oct 16: A dozen ships carrying wheat, urea and to load cement are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where eight ships, Cap Colorado to unload and load containers, Northern Harmony, Navision Bulker to offload fertiliser, Industrial Dream, Banglar Shikha and Bolan to unload and load general cargo, Mariann, an oil tanker and D.D. Vigor to unload wheat were berthed after the departure of eight ships on Thursday.

The departing ships were led by Hyundai Emperor, Hansa Liberty, Ninos, Alam Salmat, Vertigo, Dolphine, Karagol and Cidelo Di Venezia, while Karla Omayra, Northern Harmony, Industrial Dream and Sea Bridge are due to sail out on Friday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was on the higher where a total tonnage rose to 103,000 tons comprising 32,015 tons of export cargo and 70,990 tons of import cargo respectively.

The following ships are due on Friday: Hanjin Calcutta with 25,000 tons of urea, Gregos with 35,113 tons of imported wheat, Asharf-B and Sealo-1 to load 5,200 and 23,000 tons of cement, Lanka Mahapola to load general cargo, Johar to unload crude oil, City of Xiamen, Harmony, Y.M. Inventive, Conti Harmony with containers and Karina Danica with project cargo.
