QUETTA, Oct 14: At least eight people were killed and 15 others injured when a bus fell into a ravine on the Hub-Sakran road on Tuesday.

The bus was carrying devotees, mostly from Karachi, to Shah Noorani in Lasbella district.

Police blamed speeding for the accident and said that the driver lost control while negotiating a narrow turn.

Seven of those killed were identified as Maqbool Ahmed, Mohammad Karim, Mariam Bibi, Nasima Bibi, Anwar Bibi, Gul Sher and Karol.

Police carried out rescue and relief work with the help of local people.

The injured were taken to the Hub civil hospital. Four seriously injured people were later shifted to Karachi.—Staff Correspondent
