LARKANA, Oct 14: The civil judge and judicial magistrate of Ratodero on Tuesday allowed two teenage sisters, who apprehended their forced marriages, to go with their maternal uncle.

On late Monday, 17-year-old Naheed and 14-year-old Shazia had taken shelter at Ratodero police station, alleging that their brothers viz; Pir Bakhsh and Sher Mohammed Mahisar had planned to marry them off to elderly men.

Talking to journalists outside the court, they said that they lived with their brothers in Saddar, Karachi, who had struck a deal to sell them to old men of Markhyani clan for Rs50,000 each.

Fearing their forcible marriage two days ago, they had escaped and arrived at their home in Nadir Shah Locality, Ratodero, they said.

Their brothers followed them and arrived in Ratodero but prior to be shifted to Karachi, they had taken shelter at the police station.

Pir Bakhsh and Sher Mohammed Mahisar slipped out of Ratodero when police moved in to arrest them, the sources said.

Meanwhile Sindh minister for women welfare Ms Tauqeer Fatima Bhutto, taking notice of the alleged sale of two sisters, talked to them and assured legal assistance to protect them.

Ghulam Sakina Gaad, the caretaker of women complaint and crisis cell Larkana, also talked to them and contacted the SHO Ratodero police station. She had also assured them of all kind of legal assistance.
