Advisory council for industry formed

KARACHI, Oct 14: A 25-member Advisory Council for Trade and Industry comprising presidents of all chambers of commerce and industry of the province and leading trade associations was formed on Tuesday at a meeting of top business leaders in the office of Sindh Industries Minister Abdul Rauf Siddiqui.

A press release announced that the council would try to seek solutions to problems being faced by the trade and industry, workout agenda for meeting foreign business missions, plan industrial exhibitions, organise seminars on issues of business and to keep inform the industries minister of the problems.

The meeting expressed its concern over the rise in electricity tariff and urged for quick resolution of the power crisis which could cause closure of many factories. It also decided to form a delegation that would meet President and Prime Minister to seek redressal of the grievances of businessmen in Sindh.
