Smeda helps Attract Rs2bn investment

KARACHI, Oct 14: The Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (Smeda), Sindh, has facilitated an investment of more than Rs2 billion during its first decade of operations.

Smeda provincial chief Muslim Reza told a press conference on Monday that more than Rs2 billion investments in small and medium enterprises was made possible through focused and coordinated efforts and development initiatives.

He elaborated on the initiatives taken by Smeda in initiating development strategies in a variety of sectors which are fisheries, transport, dairy, gems, jewellery, marble, granite and many more.

He also spelt out the projects to be implemented in the province, which would include establishment of a Women Development Centre at Karachi (Rs34.03 million), revival of Hyderabad Footwear Centre (Rs35.01 million) and glass products design and manufacturing centre at Hyderabad (Rs37.05 million).
