Port Qasim

KARACHI, Oct 14: Shipping activity remained active at the port where three ships to load, offload containers, wheat and palm oil took berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, QICT, and Multipurpose Terminal (MPT), respectively, on Monday.

Meanwhile, another container ship arrived at the outer anchorage during the same period.

Berth occupancy remained on higher side at the port at 90 per cent, where a total of nine ships were occupying berths to load, offload containers, cement, wheat, palm oil, diesel oil, phosphoric acid and coke, respectively, during the report period.

Cargo throughput during the last 24 hours stood at 74,772 tons, comprising 50,862 tons import cargo and 23,910 tons export cargo, inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 2,045 containers (Teus).

Four ships M.V. Richmond, C.V Maersk Novazzano, C.V. Maersk Montana and M.V Giovanni sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while three more ships M.T. DL Violet, M.T. Stolt Nanami and M.T. AI-Salam-II were expected to sail on Tuesday. —APP
