KARACHI, Oct 14: Five ships carrying containers, jet oil and to load general cargo are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where eight ships were berthed, including one with imported wheat. They are: Ulcas, to offload imported wheat, Sea Bridge, to load cement, Karagol to load ethanol, Samsun pioneer to offload coal, Mol Ability, Sima Sahba, and Kota Puri to unload and load containers.

Six vessels, Arnios, Global Progress, Zhen Hua-5, Olympias, Hermione, and Valbella departed on Tuesday after loading cement and other commodities, while Sima Sehba, Kota Puri, Vertigo, Karla Omayra, Aqua Star, Kargol and Hyundai Emperor are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was relatively slow where the total tonnage fell to 87,790 tons, comprising 39,867 tons of export cargo and 47,923 tons of imports on Tuesday.

The following ships are due on Wednesday; Yin Gui, with jet oil, Cap Colorado, Francisca Schulte, with containers, Lanka Mahapola, to load general cargo and Oxl Blue Sea, with project cargo.
