LAHORE, Oct 13: Chief Minister and PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif has informed district office-bearers of his party that 60 per cent quota in new recruitments to lower cadre posts would go to the PML-N and 40 per cent to its coalition partner in the province, the PPP, implying that no merit would be observed while filling the posts.

It also implied that the party cadres were told that power sharing with the PPP would go on.

Speaking to participants of a meeting of district presidents and general secretaries as well as MPs of the PML-N here on Monday, the chief minister said that they could send their recommendations for filling BS-1 to BS-5 posts in the public sector.

He, however, said that they should not make any recommendation to fill vacant posts in the police department for it was a security concern, an official of the party who attended the meeting said.

He said the office-bearers had complained that the bureaucracy did not oblige them whenever they approached them for solving problems of the “masses”.
