Published October 14, 2008

KARACHI, Oct 13: A dacoit was gunned down and his accomplice was injured as they attempted to flee after committing a robbery in a shop of spare parts in Tibet Centre on the M.A. Jinnah Road on Monday, police and witnesses said.

They said two dacoits reached the auto spares shop of Zahoor Ahmed, held him hostage and looted cash. As soon as the dacoits left the shop the robbery victim fought back by opening fire on them. One of the dacoits was killed while the other was caught by the onlookers who gave him a hiding.

The body and the critically injured suspect, who remained unidentified, were shifted to the Civil Hospital.—Staff Reporter
