KARACHI, Oct 13: Brisk shipping activity was witnessed at the port where five ships carrying containers, MEG, diesel and phosphoric acid were accommodated on berths at QICT, MPT, Fotco oil terminal and Engro Vopak terminal, respectively, during the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, two more ships with wheat arrived at the outer anchorage.

The berth occupancy was maintained at 90 per cent at the port where a total of nine ships occupied berths to load, unload containers, cement, wheat, MEG diesel, phosphoric acid, and coke, respectively during the report period.

The port handled a cargo volume of 89,849 tons comprising 77,470 tons of imports and 12,376 tons of exports, inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 2,799 containers (Teus) was handled during the period under review.

A container ship and a chemical vessel sailed out to the sea on Monday.
