By Our Sports Reporter

KARACHI, Oct 12: A brilliant all-round performance by Salman Daniyal was cornerstone of South Shore School’s 69-run victory over BVS Parsi High School in the opening match of the inaugural KGA Ian Fyfe memorial inter-school colour-kit Twenty20 cricket tournament here on Sunday.

Salman scored an unbeaten 79 to help South Shore reach 143 for three after BVS Parsi High School elected to field at the KGA Ground. Salman and Jaahid Ali (24) added 93 runs for the unbroken fourth-wicket partnership.

BVS Parsi High School were then bundled out for a paltry 74 in 16 overs with only Arsal Malik (29) playing a fighting hand before becoming one of Salman’s three wickets in an over. Taha Zaidi also picked up three wickets for the winners.

Summarised scores:

SOUTH SHORE SCHOOL 143-3 in 20 overs (Salman Daniyal 79 not out, Jaahid Ali 24 not out; Mujtaba Ashfaq 2-25); BVS PARSI HIGH SCHOOL 74 (Arsal Malik 29; Salman Daniyal 3-3, Taha Zaidi 3-21).
