KARACHI, Oct 10: Malaysia put up impressive display in second half to beat Pakistan 4-1 in a FIFA-recognised international friendly at the National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur on Friday.

Mohd Safee Mohd Sali was the only goal scorer of the first half.

Mohd Zaquan Adha Abdul Radzak made it 2-0 five minutes after resumption and it was left to Hairuddin Omar to make it 3-0 in the 65th minute, followed by Mohd Khyril Muhymeen Zambri’s 70th minute goal.

Pakistan’s only goal was scored by Arif Mehmood four minutes from the finishing time.

It was the sixth clash between the two sides and their first meeting after 20 years.

Pakistan coach Shahzad Anwar gave chance to both goalkeepers –– Bilal Rafiq and Amir Gul –– but they conceded two goals each.—PPI
