PCB gets two stadiums

By Our Correspondent

SAHIWAL, Oct 10: The District Government has handed over Quaid-i-Azam Stadium, Sahiwal and Rai Ali Nawaz Stadium, Chichawatni to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for infrastructural and technical improvement of cricket in the region.

Rai Hasan Nawaz, District Nazim, Sahiwal, District Cricket Association, Sahiwal and the PCB signed an agreement in this regard, Dawn has learnt. The PCB would grant Rs10 million for the infrastructural development.

“I cannot myself hand over two stadiums to the PCB. So I took all members of the District Council, Sahiwal into confidence who passed a unanimous resolution,” Rai Hasan said.

Under the agreement the district government will provide sanitation, electricity and security facilities to the said stadiums while the PCB will develop pitches, scoreboard, water supply system, ground staff facilities, cricket screens and dressing rooms.
