LAHORE, Oct 9: Former Test opener Mudassar Nazar has resigned from the post of director, National Cricket Academy. The resignation, however, will go into effect from Dec 1.
According to a PCB spokesman, Mudassar met with the new PCB chairman Ijaz Butt on Thursday and informed him that as he was to join the ICC Global Cricket Academy in Dubai, he would not be able to continue with his current job from the beginning of December.
The spokesman said Mudassar informed the chairman that he was leaving much ahead of time in order for him to be able to find an alternate before his departure.
Appointed by the previous chairman Dr Nasim Ashraf, Mudassar had himself picked most of his staff but the academy failed to produce any encouraging results during his tenure.
The Academy team mainly toured countries like Kenya, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe where the boys could not benefit much from the experience.
