KARACHI: Foolproof security ensured: CM
By Our Staff Reporter
KARACHI, Oct 8: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that the government has made foolproof arrangements to ensure safety and security of citizens and foreigners, including members of foreign missions.
He was speaking at the Eid Milan party hosted by Sindh Assembly Speaker Nisar Ahmad Khuhro in the assembly building on Tuesday.
Mr Shah observed that the law and order situation in the province today was far better than it had been during the entire tenure of the previous government. “It’s not just a statement… I’m saying this on the basis of facts and figures,” he asserted, and said it was an undeniable fact that there had been a sharp decline in kidnappings for ransom and street crimes because of a strict watch on criminals maintained by his government.
He said that the government had initiated various programmes to resolve pressing issues, including unemployment. In this regard, he referred to the launching of the youth development programme under which 60,000 youths are to be imparted training in different trades.
Earlier, Mr Khuhro welcomed the guests and spoke on the history of the Sindh Assembly.
