HYDERABAD: Banned outfit accused of occupying mosque

HYDERABAD, Oct 7: Leaders of the Hyderabad chapter of the Jamaat Ahl-i-Sunnat Pakistan on Tuesday accused a banned outfit of trying to occupy Ahl-i-Sunnat mosques by force and appealed to authorities to take action against the miscreants.

Mohammad Aslam Nagar, Qari Ahmed Ali Saeedi and Mohbat Khan said at a news conference at the press club that the banned outfit was trying to occupy mosques, which were under the care of Barelvi sect and their attempts might lead to serious law and order situation in the city.

They said that the activists of the banned outfit were trying to take over Madina Mosque on Makki Shah Road, which was constructed in 1948 and was being looked after by a caretaker committee.

The mosque was registered in 1965 and since then the president of the committee, Mohbat Khan, was looking after the affairs of the mosque, they said.
