Four militants killed in Darra

By Abdul Sami Paracha

KOHAT, Oct 6: Four militants were killed by security forces in Tor Chappar village of Darra Adamkhel on Monday evening. Their office in the village was destroyed and 15 suspected militants were arrested.

The Kohat DCO and political agent of Kohat frontier region Siraj Ahmed told Dawn that the troops had besieged a large number of militants holed up in Tor Chappar since Sunday noon.

They started pounding their hideouts with artillery from Kohat side and also used helicopters.

The arrested militants have been taken to Spina Thana for interrogation.

He said that volunteers were carrying out a round the clock search of the entire area to protect local people.

Meanwhile, Darra Taliban have claimed responsibility for the Walibagh suicide attack on the chief of Awami National Party.

Militants’ spokesman Mohammad said that Taliban would not spare Asfandyar Wali Khan till he ordered the NWFP government to resign.
