PESHAWAR, Oct 4: Jamaat-i-Islami chief Qazi Hussain Ahmad on Saturday called upon the government to immediately stop cooperation in the war on terror and close the routes being used for transportation of goods to the US-led forces in Afghanistan.

Talking to media persons here, he said the government should review its foreign policy towards the United States if it was sincere in restoration of peace in the region.

Condemning the suicide attack on Awami National Party (ANP) president Asfandyar Wali Khan at Wali Bagh in Charsadda, the JI leader suggested that the government should find out the root causes of such attacks.

Earlier, speaking at an Eid Milan party, he flayed former president Pervez Musharraf for his support to the United States in what he called the war against the Muslims and Islam.

Referring to a statement of Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, the JI leader said it was true that no one could win any war without popular support, but the war against terror had no support from the people of Pakistan.
