SHEIKHUPURA, Sept 30: A bus security guard shot dead two brothers on refusing to vacate the seats here on Tuesday.

Reports said Nazir Ahmad and his brother Qari Khalil Ahmad were travelling in a Layyah-bound bus. The vehicle was jam-packed due to Eid rush.

As the bus reached near Mandiali on Lahore Road, security guard Shabbir asked Nazir and Khalil to vacate their seats as he himself and his guest wanted to sit there. Both the passengers refused to oblige the guard, saying they had purchased tickets.

The guard got infuriated and opened fire on Nazir and Khalil, killing them on the spot.

The accused tried to jump from the moving vehicle, but passengers overpowered him and handed him over to the Factory Area police.

The police have impounded the bus and started investigation.
