KOHAT: ‘Kidnapped’ schoolteacher recovered

KOHAT, Sept 29: The Cantt police claimed the recovery of a kidnapped schoolteacher after the aggrieved party moved court expressing their dissatisfaction over the efforts of the City police on Monday.

Kamal Amir, a teacher of government primary school, Doaba was kidnapped on September 2 from the Kacha Pakha area at the border between Kohat and Orakzai Agency.

According to him armed men who were chasing him put him in a Suzuki van and took him to an undisclosed location.

They asked Kamal Amir to write a letter to his family for the payment of Rs700,000 as ransom. In the meantime, his sister moved court of the additional district and sessions judge expressing disappointment over the efforts of the city police and accused them of non-cooperation. The judge handed over the case for inquiry to the SHO Cantt, Ibraheemullah, who after holding negotiations with the kidnappers got the teacher released within a week.
