Naumanullah excels with all-round show
KARACHI, Sept 28: Tapal Cricket Club set up the title clash with KESC in the 23rd Karachi Gymkhana Twenty20 Ramazan cricket tournament when they registered an exciting six runs win over Ideal CC in the second semi-final at the KG Ground on Sunday.
Naumanullah was the hero for Tapal CC as he first scored 44 with three hits to the boundary and one over it and later grabbed two wickets for 29 runs to clinch the Man-of-the-Match award.
Tapal CC, batting first, scored 143 in 20 overs.
Nauman was well supported by Ahmed Zeeshan Malik, who scored 26 with two boundaries, and opener Hanif-ur-Rehman, who contributed with 22 with four boundaries.
Spinners Faraz Ahmed Khan and Tabish Nawab captured three wickets apiece.
Ideal CC in reply managed to score 137 for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs.
Mubashir Ahmed scored 41 off 40 balls with two boundaries and Sheharyar Ghani hit three boundaries in his 22.
Shahid Afridi took three wickets for 21 in his four overs.
Earlier, in the first semi-final, KESC stunned defending champions Medicam CC by seven wickets.
Akbar Rehman and Noman Alvi took three wickets each to dismiss Medicam CC for 118 in 20 overs.
KESC in reply romped home for the loss of three wickets in 17.5 overs.
Arif Mahmood struck an unbeaten 47 with the help of six boundaries.
