PPP govt has failed to deliver: AT

THATTA, Sept 28: A two-day central committee meeting of the Awami Tehrik, which concluded here on Sunday, observed that induction of a democratic government in the country had failed to provide any relief at least to the misery-stricken people of Sindh.

The meeting, which was presided over by AT president Qadir Ranto, revealed that the Pakistan People’s Party has failed to deliver and stood exposed by continuing the anti-state and anti-masses policies of its predecessor Pervez Musharraf.

Expressing concern over the proposed disposal of natural resources of Sindh to outsiders, the meeting said the nationalist forces in Sindh were having no option but to raise their voice, apprise the masses of the ill-advised steps of PPP and ultimately launch a protest campaign.

The meeting said the people of Sindh would never allow anyone to sell the interests of Sindh.

The meeting apposed the proposed privatisation of the Oil and Gas Development Corporation and Qadirpur gas field and coal reserves of Sindh.

The meeting observed that the education system in Sindh had been ruined and special efforts were needed to improve literacy in Sindh.

The meeting condemned alleged assassination threats to Sindh National Front leader Mumtaz Ali Bhutto.

The meeting decided reorganisation of the entire party set-up at gross root level from December.
