OKARA, Sept 28: A class-VI student was killed while another boy sustained critical injuries by the firing of some unidentified land allottees of village 27/2-R here on Sunday.

Police said some land allottees came to the village at Iftar and opened fire. As a result Sarfraz alias Bhola, who was playing at the village chowk, was killed on the spot while another boy sustained injuries.

He was shifted to DHQ Hospital. The accused wanted to intimidate their tenants in a bid to get their land vacated. —Correspondent
