Police college officials not paid allowance

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Sept 28: The police officials posted at the Punjab Police College Sihala were not paid the special Eid allowance announced by the chief minister Punjab, sources said on Sunday. The chief minister had announced Rs1,000 Eid allowance for the policemen from the ranks of constable to inspector a few days back.

In line with the CM’s directives, the officials in all the districts including Rawalpindi got the allowance along with their current month’s salary on September 25.

However, the officials of the college got their salary without the allowance on September 27. On inquiry, the account assistant told them that the allowance was not approved for them.

The sources said the salaries of the police officials of all the four provinces and the federal capital had reached the respective banks from where they withdrew it. However, those posted at the college were provided the salary in cash.

The sources alleged that sometimes the account officials made deductions from the salaries without any reason. There is a possibility that they have embezzled the allowance, they added.
