CHITRAL: Eight feared dead in accident

CHITRAL, Sept 27: Eight persons were feared dead when a pickup plunged into a river at Nirdet Gol area here on Saturday.

According to sources, the body of one person had been retrieved from the Chitral River and shifted to the DHQ hospital.

The persons were aboard the vehicle and all of them belonged to the Tableeghi jamat, Islamic preachers’ group, who were coming to Chitral city from Barenis village.

Efforts were in progress to fish the dead bodies of the remaining persons out.

The names of the dead except one Mohammad Anwar could not be ascertained immediately.
