KARACHI: Educational reforms


KARACHI, Sept 27: Chief Secretary Effective Fazalur Rehman has asked the officials concerned to take more steps for further improvement of academic standards.

Speaking at a briefing on the Sindh Education Sector Reforms (SESR) in his office on Saturday, Mr Rehman told the officials to submit to him the SESR performance report for the year 2006.

He gave approval to the proposal of constituting a two-member committee comprising the special secretary (finance) and the SESR programme director to take measures towards resolving financial problems in the implementation of the project.

The chief secretary also called for chalking out a strategy for improving the SESR performance.

Additional Chief Secretary Nazar Hussain Mahar, Education Secretary Rizwan Memon and Services Secretary Iqbal Durrani were among the officials present at the meeting.—APP
