Adnan steers Dewan Farooq to final


KARACHI, Sept 26: Captain Adnan Kaleem played a pivotal role with bat and ball as Dewan Farooq Motors reached the AKG Twenty20 Ramazan cricket tournament final, recording an exciting three-wicket victory over Medicam Cricket Club in the semi-final at the AKG Ground on Thursday.

Adnan first claimed three wickets for 27 and then scored an unbeaten 15 during his 34-run unbroken eighth-wicket stand with Amjad Waqar (21 not out) to claim the man-of-the-match award.

Medicam CC, batting first, were bowled out for 163 in 19.3 overs. Khalid Latif cracked six boundaries in his 45 off 27 balls.

Dewan Farooq Motors, in reply, reached the target for the loss of seven wickets with four balls to spare. Naeem Ahmed scored 39 with three fours and a six. Amjad Waqas made a match-winning 21 not out with three hits to the boundary and one over it.

Dewan Farooq Motors will clash with the KESC in the final on Sept 30.
