SUKKUR, Sept 26: The heinous tradition of karo-kari claimed four more lives in different parts of Sindh.

A woman along with her alleged paramour was put to death by her husband in the kutcha area of Gablo police limits near Kashmore on Friday.

On the suspicion of karo-karo, Shahnawaz Sundrani shot dead his wife Mst Tajul and her alleged paramour, Gullan Sundrani, and fled. The area police shifted both the bodies to Kashmore hospital for postmortem examination. No case had so far been registered.

In Thatta, a man killed his teenaged daughter on the pretext of karo-kari here on late Thursday night.

The accused, Aslam Qureshi, after having killed his daughter Zainab Bano Qureshi,17, surrendered himself to the Thatta police.

In his confessional statement, Qureshi accused his daughter of having developed illicit relations with Pappu Qazi. He said that he had reprimanded her for that a number of times, but to no avail and that ultimately led to her murder.

He told the police that he had hit his daughter with a heavy piece of rock when she was sound asleep. The girl died instantly.

However, Basheer Qazi, brother of Pappu Qazi, denying the allegation said that the Qureshi family was not having good relations with them and on September 24 the two families had an exchange of hot words on a petty issue with Pappu.

He alleged that Aslam Qureshi killed his daughter only to implicate his brother.

In Jacobabad district, a woman was shot dead by her husband on the pretext of karo-kari in Sikandar Brohi village in the jurisdiction of the Mouladad police station on Thursday night.

Police said that Karim Khatoon, 40, was asleep at her home when her husband, Mehboob Chandio, opened fire on her and swiftly fled leaving her in a pool of blood. No case was registered till the filing of this report.
