Rupee weaker

KARACHI, Sept 25: Rupee ended weaker on Thursday amid import payments and dealers said the currency was expected to remain under pressure in the coming days on worries about the economy.

The rupee closed at 78.21/30 to the dollar compared with Tuesday’s close of 78.15/25.

“There were some import payments but pressure is likely to remain,” said a currency dealer.

Dealers said there were payments due before the end of the month and before a holiday for the end of Ramazan at the beginning of October.—Reuters
