Karachi Port operations


KARACHI, Sept 25: Nine ships carrying containers and to load rice, cement and molasses are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves on Thursday gathered momentum where nine ships, Qing Hai, bulk carrier, Mol Affinity, Oel Transworld, Harmony, Northern Harmony, APL Shenzhen and Soon Fu to unload and load containers and Johar and Hartati, oil tanker, were accommodated berths.

Saim Pearl, Cap Colorado, Napheli and Harmony sailed out on Thursday, while Pacific Arrow, Aqua Star, Soon Fu, APL Shenzhen, Northern Harmony, Xu Chang Hai, Pheafan are due to depart on Friday.

A total tonnage of 111,000 tons comprising 28,214 tons of export cargo and 82,878 tons of import tonnage was handled on Thursday.

The following ships are due on Friday: Uni Tank, Champion to load molasses, North Pole with chemicals, Changuinola Bay to load 9,500 tons of rice, Red Sea Spirit to load cement, United Asia with steel cargo, Calmy Coral with general cargo, Cosco Dammam and Hanjin Chittagon with containers.
