LAHORE, Sept 24: Art exhibitions and workshops will be arranged at the Tollionton market on The Mall, now officially known as the City Museum, newly-appointed Lahore Museum Director Asghar Nadeem Syed told Dawn.

Syed, who is also a noted playwright, said painters, art students and other people interested in exhibiting their work at the City Museum would be welcomed.

He said the museum would also be used for conducting workshops on topics related to culture and heritage. Schools, colleges and universities would be invited to hold workshops and exhibitions at the museum.

He said since the Lahore Museum did not have a board of governors at present, a new body would be formed after Eid. As director, he would request the new board to look out for more opportunities to utilise the City Museum for more and more art-related activities, he added.
