DADU, Sept 24: In a massive drive against defaulters, Hesco severed 300 electricity connections in Mehar on Wednesday.

A team of Hesco Mehar Division, led by Executive Engineer Wahid Bux Gajani visited different areas in Faridabad, Thariri Mohabbat, and Mehar towns and cut-off 300 connection of the defaulters.

Talking to journalists SDO of Hesco Mehar Aijaz Shaikh said that there were 5000 defaulters.

An affected power consumer, Nabab Mahessar said that he was paying bill regularly but the Hesco officials had sent detection and inflated bills to him. He said when he visited Hesco office Mehar, the officials demanded kharchi for correction of the bill. And on his refusal his name was included in defaulters’ list.

Meanwhile, social workers took out a rally in Mehar to protest against unscheduled loadshedding.

The protesters alleged that Hesco officials were demanding extra charges from shopkeepers.

KILLED: A girl was crushed to death under the wheels of unknown vehicle at new bus stop Dadu on Wednesday.

Aeysha daughter of Hazoor Bux was crossing the road when she met the accident.
