KARACHI, Sept 24: Five ships carrying chemicals, steel and to load molasses are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was active where six ships, Pacific Arrow to load cement, APL Yokohama, Kota Perdana and Cap Colorado to unload and load containers, Hanjin Calcutta and Pheafan to unload fertiliser and general cargo were berthed on Wednesday.

Sailing was also active as nine ships including APL Yokohama, Buxhill, Kota Perdana, Sima Pride, Al-Soor-2, Adriatic Arrow, Force Ranger, Kang Hing and Lalazar departed on Wednesday, while Cap Colorado, Nepheli, Harmony and Pacific Arrow are due to sail out on Thursday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 129,000 tons comprising 31,021 tons of export cargo and 98,376 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Clipper Trinidad with chemicals, Champion and Uni Tank to load 28,000 and 18,500 tons of molasses, Abtin-1 with containers and United Asia with steel cargo.
