Dollar little changed

LONDON, Sept 24: The dollar was little changed against the euro on Wednesday, trading in narrow ranges as players waited to see if a massive US government bank bailout plan would get through Congress quickly.

In late European trade, the euro was at 1.4658 dollars, after 1.4657 dollars in New York late on Tuesday.

The dollar picked up to 106.00 yen from 105.49 yen.

Earlier on Wednesday, sentiment on the dollar got a modest boost after US tycoon Warren Buffett invested five billion dollars (3.4 billion euros) in Goldman Sachs, the beleaguered US investment bank that was forced to change its status in an effort to secure its future.

In late London trade on Wednesday, the euro changed hands at 1.4658 dollars against 1.4657 dollars late on Tuesday, 155.53 yen (154.64), 0.7925 pounds (0.7910) and 1.5949 Swiss francs (1.5907).—AFP
