SUP warns against sale of Qadirpur gas field
Bureau Report
HYDERABAD, Sept 23: The central committee of the Sindh United Party at an urgent meeting held here on Tuesday condemned the proposed privatisation of Qadirpur gas field.
Speaking on the occasion, SUP chief Jalal Mehmood Shah said that as a first step, Sindh was deprived of its share of Indus water and then Thar coal was transferred to the centre and now another attack is being planned on Sindh by disposing of its revenue-earning Qadirpur gas field.
The people of Sindh would strongly resist whatever the cost the privatisation of Qadirpur gas field, Mr Shah said.
He said this was also an attack on the provincial autonomy and added that a large number of workers would be rendered jobless.
They will not allow anyone to take away our natural resources, the Sindh United Party leader warned and said that if the Sindh government did not take any action, his party would strongly resist it by staging protest demonstrations throughout Sindh.
Ghulam Shah, Syed Zain Shah, Khwaja Naveed Ameen, Dr Dodo Mehri and district presidents and zonal coordinators of the Sindh United Party attended the meeting.
