KARACHI: 19 more dengue cases reported

KARACHI, Sept 23: Sindh Health Minister Dr Saghir Ahmed has said that 19 more patients with suspected dengue fever were brought to various hospitals in the city.

The minister said that 693 patients with suspected dengue fever had been brought to various hospitals in the province so far. One hundred and ninety-four of them stood positive, he added.

Dr Ahmed said that eight patients were admitted in Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, five in Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, three in Civil Hospital Karachi, two in Liaquat National Hospital and one in Dr Ziauddin Hospital.

With this latest addition the number of dengue patients admitted in different hospitals in the city rose to 49, he said, adding that 20 patients had been discharged during the previous 24 hours.—APP
