PFF enhances cash prizes for PPFL

LAHORE, Sept 19: The winners of the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) will now get Rs500,000 as the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has enhanced cash prizes.

The 14-team show carries a revised purse of Rs one million with the prizes of Rs300,000 for the runners-up and Rs200,000 for the third-placed team.

Earlier, the winners were to receive Rs300,000 with the runners-up pocketing Rs200,000 and Rs100,000, respectively.

The prize-distribution ceremony will be held after the last match between Army and Wapda to be held at the Army Stadium, Rawalpindi, on Dec 6.

Moreover, the most valuable player will be honoured with Rs50,000 while leading marksman and the best goalkeeper will get Rs30,000 each.

In order to promote sportsmanship, the PFF has also decided to handover Rs50,000 to the winners of the Fair Play Trophy.

In addition, Rs3.64 million will be distributed among participants as bonus.

The winners of a match will get Rs15,000 and the losers Rs5,000. In case of a draw, each team will receive Rs10,000.

The League resumes after Eid-ul-Fitar with two matches in Karachi on Oct 8: KPT v KESC at CDGK Stadium and NBP v PIA at Korangi Baloch Stadium.
