KARACHI, Sept 19: Five-year-old dark bay mare Stormy Kiss who was beaten by filly Diamond In Dust in a closely fought battle in the Defence Day Cup earlier this month gets a chance to go all out and avenge her defeat when the two come across each other in The September Cup in the Gymkhana race meeting at Karachi Racecourse on Saturday.

Stormy Kiss which belonged to the stables of KRC administrator, Haji Khuda Bux Rajar, and saddled by Mushtaq Ali Khan should win hands down to square the record.

As many as 10 horses are in the run for honours barring last minute withdrawls in The September Cup which is also the day’s feature event.

She is likely to be chased by Bacaradi and Diamond In Dust for the places.

With a hat-trick under his belt, four-year-old bay colt Die-Na-Might is fancied to stretch his unbeaten run by landing the supporting event which is the sixth and concluding race on the card.

Die-Na-Might is likely to be followed by Play Boy and Khan Jee.

The fourth race which has a shortest field of six runners should see colt Moon Dazzler making amends by getting the better of opponents particularly John Player.

Mare Princess should have to reproduce her best to reclaim the top slot she surrendered last time.

After registering four lengths victory on Sept 10 she settled for third in the last run. Her likely challengers in the opener are Shan-e-Mir and Princess Zara apart from mare Silent Love who is expected to put up a good show.

Six-year-old bay New Ferrari is poised to atone for the previous loses by overcoming Princess Sparkle and Catch It in the next race.

Princess Rozi, an eight-year-old bay mare, is favourite to claim third race where filly Sugar Sweet is a dark horse and can win any time. Her stable mate Hilal Tob won the last race out of a blue.

A mediocre card of six races has been drawn for the day. The first race gets into action at 2.00pm.
