14 die in Nepal bus crash


KATHMANDU, Sept 19: A packed bus veered off a hilly road in Nepal and plunged 150 metres into a river on Friday killing at least 14 people and injuring 36 others, police said.

The cause of the accident in Dhading, about 25 km west of Kathmandu, was not immediately known.

Traffic accidents are common in Nepal, with overloaded and rickety vehicles plying poorly maintained hilly roads.—Reuters
