SANGHAR, Sept 18: Tando Adam police have arrested a 13-year-old boy, Ali, son of Hussain Bhatti, for stealing Rs3,000 from a bank counter.

A trader, Saleem Memon, went to a local branch of a bank to encash a cheque for Rs10,000. While he was counting the cash at the counter the boy stole Rs3,000. But he was caught on the spot and handed over to police.

Ali told the police that he had asked his parents to buy him new clothes for Eid, but due to poverty his parents could not afford to buy him new clothes. The boy said he stole the money only to purchase new clothes.

Tando Adam police are investigating the case.
