GUJAR KHAN, Sept 18: A gang of carjackers struck twice on the G.T. Road during the last 36 hours and snatched two vehicles besides looting the occupants, the Gujar Khan police said on Thursday.
Khurram Shahzad, a resident of Civil Lines area in Gujranwala, told the police that he was moving towards Islamabad in his car late Wednesday night when a vehicle intercepted him near Missa Kaswal.
Four armed men held Mr Shahzad hostage at gunpoint. The victim claimed that the culprits snatched Rs400,000 and a cellphone before throwing him at a wooded area along the G.T. Road.
The snatched car was later found abandoned in Islamabad on Thursday morning.
Mohammad Shafiq, a resident of Hafizabad, told the Gujar Khan police on Wednesday that he along with his relatives was going to Rawalpindi when a car intercepted him near Missa Kaswal.—Correspondent
