MIRPURKHAS: Woman’s body exhumed

MIRPURKHAS, Sept 18: A special medical board took samples of tissue of different organs after exhuming the body of Seema Khaskheli in Ismail Shah Shaheed graveyard in the presence of a judicial magistrate and police officers in Satellite town on Thursday.

The samples would be sent to laboratory for chemical examination.

The exhumation was made after one Ghulam Mohammed Khaskheli of Mir Sher Mohammed Talpur village cast doubt on the sudden suicide of his married daughter Seema. He suspected she had been poisoned to death by her husband.

Ghulam Muhammad had submitted an application in the court of additional sessions judge Mirpurkhas-I, Mohammed Yamin, stating that Seema was married to Salahuddin Khaskheli about one and a half years ago and he always found her harassed whenever he visited her house.

On June 12, he was informed that Seema had committed suicide by taking pesticide and was later laid to rest, he said and added that he suspected that her husband had killed her.

He requested the court to order registration of murder case against Seema’s husband and the additional sessions judge Mirpurkhas-I ordered Khaan police to register the case on Aug 12.

After preliminary inquiry, investigation officer requested the SP of investigation Noorul Haq Rind to exhume the body who then approached the director general health services Sindh requesting him top constitute a medical board to exhume the body and ascertain the cause of death.

The special medical board in the presence of police officers and Judicial Magistrate Mirpurkhas-III Rafique Soomro exhumed the body, took samples of different organs of the body and then sent them to laboratory for chemical examination.
